Chaos 'n' Drama Chapter I

. . . And Another Thing

For this initial post I'm gonna just start a little story and see where it goes.

So, I live in the basement of a house. I have been here a long time mostly because the rent can't be beat. There have been a continuing stream of people living upstairs and we usually get along.

The current resident of rental casa de Hollywood is a single mother with a pretty good job and a bunch of problems. I'll call her Pat. Rather than detail the problems I will merely describe the evening.

Pat is in Texas visiting her relatives. Her on and off boyfriend, Bob, has the keys to the house and has been staying off and on while she is gone Before she left she told me nobody was supposed to be in the house. She gave Bob the keys and must have told him it was OK, I don't know.

They have been fighting back and forth over my phone for the entire trip. Bob can't afford to keep his own cell phone running so he took hers. He can't find the charger. He needs to borrow mine all the time.

Bob drove her to the airport and lost the car in the paring lot. The car was found the next day but Bob was already back in Greeley and didn't have the money or transportation to get the car out of the airport parking lot anyway. It is costing $18 dollars a day for the car to be there but no one but me seems to be concerned about that.

(I don't drive so I couldn't help with this crisis.)

So I was upstairs with Bob because he was using my phone. I didn't ask who or why. Pat had told me at various times to call the cops if he was in the house. I tried to call her to confirm and all she wanted to do was talk to him. So I had to let him use my phone.

There was a knock on the door and Bob told me to answer it. It was two of Greeley's finest. They wanted to know who was in the house. When I told them they came in and handcuffed Bob. They knew he had a warrant out and they were also called about someone breaking into the house. They said Pat's brother from Texas called. No one believes that so the mystery now is which of several players made the call?

Pat is coming home and wanting to get Bob out of jail. That's not happening. Bob is in for 180 days. Something about some child support with his first wife. Bob's other girlfriend, Martha, called to warn him about the cops outside but she was too late. Pat is at times wanting to put Martha in jail and at other times inviting her over.

I'm pretty sure we haven't heard the last of this saga so I will continue tomorrow. Stay tuned.

And another thing . . .
